These BSTL DDA-1 door entry panels/systems are designed to meet the requirements of the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA). This Act requires service providers/landlords to consider making reasonable adjustments to the features of their premises to overcome physical barriers to access. The Bell DDA panels address the varying interpretations of legislation with regards to door entry systems.
For the blind or partially sighted:
Large permanently illuminated pushbuttons are used.For the deaf or hard of hearing;
Each panel includes two bright indicator lights. One is engraved with ‘Speak Now’ for when a call has been answered. The other engraved ‘Door Open’ for when the resident has triggered the lock release.For wheelchair users:
There is an option for panels to have an extended length that allows operation from both able-bodied and wheelchair users at different heightsResident or Employee facilities:
