Alfira is a hands free, duplex speech audio system. The Alfira speech unit is a very powerful piece of kit, with a built in volt free relay for releasing door or gates, push to exit facility to release the door from inside the building and a speech synthesizer that talks to you when making a call and to inform you when the door is open. The apartment station is a slim and elegant wall mounted unit with only two wires needed for connection. Standard units are white plastic and wall mounted, with two options available - with and without volume control. Flush and surface vandal resistant versions made from stainless steel are also now available. Systems will be supplied with a flush stainless steel panel with the appropriate number of call buttons. For systems over 20 units we recommend considering a digital directory call panel. Surface panel options are available. As the panel supplied would be a vandal resistant stainless steel panel it can be customised to suit your requirements i.e. by addition of tradesman facility or keypad or proximity access or being manufactured to your special dimensions. The basic 2 wire system works on a 1 + N principle, 1 common wire for all the apartment stations and 1 call wire for each individual unit. Push button boards come in banks of 4, with one common wire and 4 call lines running up to the system from this point. The digital system works on a 4 wire bus system, 2 wires for the address data and 2 wires for call, speech and lock release. In this way there is never a need for more than 4 wires on any of your cable runs, with just 2 wires going to each apartment station from the decoder. Each decoder allows the connection of 10 apartment stations. For additional doors on the system there is no need for complex door switching units as the entrance control comes from the speech unit on the 1 N cabling solution and from the intelligent directory panel on the digital solution. In addition to this each apartment station is completely isolated from all other units, it sits in an inactive state until called.This removes the possibility or having your conversation overheard in another apartment and removes the ability to open the door without being called, which can be an important safety consideration if you have small children.
